Description

Rectangular belt buckle, branded to Challenger Drilling. Features: A rectangular, cast metal (likely brass) belt buckle with rounded corners. Finished in antique-bronze. The buckle is lightly curved. Front Design: A 2mm border around the edge and a recessed interior speckled texture surface. At the top-centre of the buckle is large bold text straight across reading " CHALLENGER". Below the text is a large horizontal slightly raised rectangle with an engraved maple leaf on the right side. Below the rectangle at the bottom-right, slightly off centre of the buckle is large horizontal text reading " DRILLING". To the bottom-left side of the buckle is a the logo with 'CS' engraved in it. Back Elements: The back of the buckle is a flat sightly textured surface. There is a rectangle hinge attached at two points and a stump from where the hook was. To the left side of the hinge in the makers mark "rj". Old Description (Kelsey Dalrymple, 3 June 2020):Challenger Drilling. Rectangular brass belt buckle.

Surface

Front: The front is in good condition. The large horizontal rectangle has small scratches along it. The border of the buckle has small scratches and scuffs but no large marks or dents. Back: The hook on the back is damaged and has been broken off leaving a small stump. To the left edge of the buckle is a large vertical scratch. Along the right side of the buckle is a small mark from where the hinge rest against the buckle. The top right corner has a small dent.

Mechanism

Hinge moves freely and has full range of motion.
