Description

A letter from Lane's Studio to Carol Haggerty, including enclosed headshot photographs and original envelope. Features: A set of three items consisting of a branded envelope, a typed note/letter, and three identical small headshot photographs. Envelope: This is the original envelope connected with the items, and appears to have been hand-delivered based on the lack of a recipient address. The front of this envelope is custom printed for the photo studio (Lane's Studio), including the studio name, address, and services. The print is a dark navy. Top right: "PASSPORT; PHOTOSTATS; CHAUFFEURS' LICENSES". Lower-centre: "LANE'S STUDIO". Bottom-centre: "On 8th Ave. at 1st St. W." The back of the envelope is plain. Note/Letter: A note to Carol Haggerty, folded into four, with note content types (typewriter) onto two of the sections. There is also a signature from the sender in blue ballpoint ink. Message reads: "Carol:; Thought you might like to have these additional prints and negatives.; I think they are very good — not the usual!!; I.M.A; December 8, 1954." The sender's signature is written below and partially over the sender's typed initials. Headshot Photos: Set of three identical headshot photographs of (assumedly) Carol Haggerty. Type of photograph used for identification purposes, similar to a passport photograph, but larger is dimensions. No photo negatives (mentioned in the message) are among the items.

Notes

Envelope was opened with a letter opener along the top seam (flap still sealed), and right-side seam is also partially torn. Envelope is moderately creased on top and left sides but otherwise in relative good condition. Letter and photographs are in very good condition, and appear to have had limited handling.
