Description

A die-cast toy car, of a 1963 Chevrolet tow truck, branded to Texaco. Description The small toy truck is made from die-cast metal and plastic. The cab and truck bed are red metal, and bear Texaco branding (round star logo) on the driver and passenger doors, as well as the white text "24 HOUR TOWING" on either side of the hood, and the Chevrolet text logo (in silver paint) on the front of the hood and tailgate. Both driver and passenger doors open, the tailgate opens, and mounted to the truck bed is a black plastic crane with an articulated tow arm. Other plastic elements include the windscreen (clear); console, steering wheel, and bench seat (grey); front and rear bumpers (silver), running boards/step (black), grill (silver), headlights (silver with clear yellow bulbs), taillights (clear red, one missing), and the undercarriage (black). The tires are black rubber. In addition to the four wheels, there is a spare tire mounted to the back of the right-side running board. Manufacturer's Marks On the underside of the vehicle is moulded the following text: - "1963 CHEVROLET; C3100 USED UNDER LICENSE" (top left of centre) - "MADE IN CHINA" (centre) - "© 1998 ROAD CHAMPS INC.; UNION NJ, 07083" (bottom far-left) - "ROAD CHAMPS" (bottom left of centre) Old Description (Kelsey Dalrymple, 2/18/2020): Model 1953 Chevrolet C3100 truck. Red tow truck is labeled with the Texaco logo, and an advertisement for 24 hour towing. Doors open and tow arm articulates.
