A pair of leather gloves, once owned by Lester F. (Ben) Owre.
The gloves are large and made of leather. There are two tones of leather: tan and grey. The gloves feature long cuffs with a triangle of tan leather centred on top of the grey leather. They show many signs of wear, as seen in the multiple stains and cuts on the leather surface. The integrity and structure of the gloves appear to be in good condition.
The gloves are kept within a handmade wooden box with a glass panel. The case is square with two wooden stands on the bottom. The glass features a small, bronze, metal plaque at the centre bottom. The plaque displays text reading, "–History of – LESTER F. (BEN) OWRE – "GENTLE BEN of the NORTH"". To the left of the text is an image of an oil derrick with "Leduc #1" underneath it. The back of the case has handwriting in black Sharpie reading, "BOX MADE BY", with a white label underneath of information about a person named George Phillips.Collection
