The North Battleford Gliding Club, was active from 1926 through at least 1949, albeit with a break from 1939 through 1945 due to WWII.
In 1926/27, the Weber brothers Fred and Charles built a primary glider, and flew it in 1928. In 1929, they formed the Club. A second glider, a Mead CIII, was built in 1932, and a third, a Hutter H-17 in 1938.
The SAC Year Book 1948-49 stated "This group accomplished more soaring than any other Canadian group prior to the war". More at page 74 of that document, Archive item 2026-01-022.
