In this oil painting, Faysash depicted the infamous fight between boxers Joe Lewis and Jersey Loe Walcott. On December 5, 1947, boxing legend Joe Lewis faced boxing newcomer Jersey Joe Walcott at Madison Square Garden in New York. After the fight, it was clear that Walcott had won, but Louis was declared the winner by split-decision, to the outrage of everyone in attendance. Walcott got a re-match six months later, but Louis was clearly the winner.
