Merv Corning painted this piece for a Christmas card that he and his wife Tula sent out to friends and family in 1996. Santa Rosa Road is located in Corning’s home state of California, and his sense of humor shows with the addition of "Branch Office" to the title. Corning artfully captured the ambiance of his subjects, and this piece is no different. There is a nostalgia that clearly comes through, as it brings up memories of Christmas and the holidays.
