Soppeland’s work is concerned with the magic of the found object. In his miniature model incorporating found and manipulated objects, Soppeland adds mystery to the familiar by covering his works with detailed color patterns and combining realism with the surreal. Soppeland says “There are many layers of paint, alterations, realizations, daydreams, fantasies, hard work, craziness, and intellectualization which accompany the production of my work."
