Zinsmeister Parker has never shied away from color in her work — she often focuses on stark color that encompasses the canvas.
"I have always believed that color is content. And with this mantra in mind, I decided to shed figurative and narrative considerations for a robust employment of lush hues of paint. In this way, I could concentrate on the cause and effect of color in a pictorial sense. Where my color choices might be lacking subtlety and fi nesse, they are nevertheless dramatic and immediately accessible to the eye. For this artist, art is always about finding new forms of expression and experimentation."
