Black and white print attached to gray mat which has Omaha and Heyn Neb engraved into lower edge of mat with tiny gold lettering .Print shows a young girl with her dark hair pulled back into a braid. She wears a black robe type garment with velvet overlay, high neck collar piece which extends down into upper bodice front. A tiny round white pin with an X in the center is attached to collar at center.
Written on back in pencil: "Nelly Daly. now Sister Matthias in the Racine Convent.
Written on back in black ink: "Went to school in Racine, Wis. and joined the Dominican Order of teaching sisters. Rec'd her degree at Winona, Minn. and was principal of high school at Racine."
Fair condition with excessive soiling and wear. Unknown black substance spots all seen at sides, top and bottom of mat and print. A glue type residue is on top back of mat. Corners are abraded front and back. Print is soiled, has stain and heavy scratches in emulsion.Collection
