Description

Site of grave of US Soldier killed at Three Crossings. Update - Aug 2010: Black white glossy print. Image of a grave on photo left surrounded by a discolored picket fence. A marker top with initials "B. T." can be seen through the fence. A man stands to photo left & is looking at a taller marker in the opposite end of the fence. Rocks & brush are on the terrain around the grave site. In photo center are light colored tents & two covered wagons. A stream is on photo right & rocky hills in the distance. Printed in white on bottom on original negative: "Immigrants grave on the Sweetwater" Written on back in black ink: "Grave of U.S. soldier killed at Three Crossings during Indian Raids in April 1862. Picture taken by William Jackson in 1870". Good condition. Emulsion impacted by writing on the back, creased, grainy emulsion top.
