Description

#3 Station where the ore was dumped then reloaded and sent on to Encampment on the Tramway.. Update - 2009: Black & white print showing the inside of a narrow wooden structure with wooden beamed ceiling rafters & wide planked wooden floor. The structure extends from image foreground receding into distance of photo background. There are several small windows on side right wall through which sunlight streams in creating several lighted areas the length of the long narrow room. Side left wooden planked wall has various poles & a sledge hammer propped against this wall. There are several black chutes above small alcove structure in this wall which extend out at mid wall level over the floor. There are different size rocks strewn about the entire length of the floor area. In the far distance of image there is a suspended metal square bucket with the #265 marked in white on its side. A man dressed in dark clothing is standing next to it. Another metal square bucket with the #256 is on the opposite side of the floor by the window. Written in white (from the negative) at lower left edge of image: Terminal Shoots & the number 42 is at lower corner right. Written on back in blue ink: "No. 3 station where the ore was dumped then reloaded & sent on to Encampment on the tramway. Good condition. Image has several dark developing flaws on border. Print is soiled on all edges. At center front is an unknown yellow stain. There are cracks in emulsion at side right, at lower right corner, at center & at top of image. Corners are bent. There are dark smudges on back side of print on the entire length of left side. A linear yellow stain is on side right. Several small tears are along all side edges.
