Description

Album of the Yellowstone trip in 1906. Update 2011: Black album with black pages. Inside cover written in white: Walton E. France Rawlins Wyoming, July and August. On next page in white: Yellowstone National Park 1906. Photos include the trip of 4 men, two on horseback and 2? in a wagon holding camping gear pulled by 4 horses. Most of the photos are labeled in white beneath the photo. A couple photos deal with Lander (shows main street), Fort Washakie; Wind River Basin and then of the park itself. Photos show their tents were canvas teepee types. There is a photo of 4 Native American children by a river. Two dogs accompanied the group. In the back are several loose post cards from this trip. There are also 2 color post cards of Old Faithful and Mammoth Hot Springs. There is an overage folder in File Cabinet 7, Drawer 4. It contains a chronological, handwritten record of the journey and identifies the photographs. The men are not named.
