Town of Battle, 1905.
Update 2008: Black and white glossy reprint of town of Battle, Wyo, 1905. Photo depicts a primitive townsite with muddy road, melting snowbank, wooden buildings/houses. Two structures in foreground on right side have very long angled stairway to front landing of houses. A group of five women are visiting with a man holding a walking stick while seated on a tree stump on the right side of the photo. The women are dressed in floor length dresses, skirts and most are wearing hats. The man is dressed in dark clothing and wearing a hat. Cut timber and evergreen trees encircle community in the background. A man is seated on the porch railing of a house to the backside of the people looking at the group of people in the road area.
The photograph has several blemishes from the processing step? There are two black marks to the top left and two soiled looking stains under the emulsion at top center of photo. The lower 1/4 of print has a 2 1/4 opaque line imposed on the photo across the total lower edge. Some soiling top and back of photo. There are slight cracks in emulsion at various locations on print. Wear along outer edges of print, slight tear left side of photo on corner.
