Block 23 or 400 Block North Front. Built in the summer of 1872 by James France for his mercantile business. Rawlins.
Update 2009: Black and white print card of large rock building. It is two story with large arch windows on second level. Lower level has four entryway with large windows beside them. There are people standing on boardwalk in front of building. A sign on top right of building reads: "Bank". A sign above first floor reads: "J. W. Hugus & Co." Printed in white on original negative: "Rawlins, Wyo. Jas. A. France Bldg. 5th and Front 1873." IN a white square "Copy by Meyers:. This photo is of 400 block of Front street.
Written on back in pencil: "Photo taken 1889-1895 Lots 12, 13, 14 Block 23 NE corner 5th and Front." On white adhesive tag: "Rawlins businesses". Printed on back in black: Post Card". "AZO" in a circle around a square written inside "Place Stamp Here". Written in black: "Mounted, copied by state." Written in blue ink with lines on 3 sides "Businesses - d."
Condition good. Scratched, ink stain, fingerprints, lower right corner bent, edges worn, accretion.Collection
