1897, Jack Ledbetter with camera. A self portrait.
Update 2008: Black and white glossy reprint of Jack Ledbetter in a bar taking a picture of himself and other bar patrons by photographing the mirror with their reflections. Foreground shows dark wood cabinetry with marble top holding decanters and glasses and goblets placed upside down with a silver pitcher to center back edge. Mr. Ledbetter is shown in scene with box camera on a box? with his head down working the camera.
Right side of photo shows two lights hanging from ceiling on black cords with clear glass chimneys. Four men are wearing hats. The bartender is not wearing a hat and is looking at Mr. Ledbetter.
There is a distortion on left side of photo from reflection of mirror?
