Portland Shaft house on top of Hill, 1904.

View 1: Black and white reprint by Frank Meyers Photo Services of the Portland Mine Shaft at "the top of the hill." date 1904. Cut timbers, tree stumps are in foreground with wooden mine building and large stack of cordwood to center back and right. The structure has two tall smoke stacks rising from roof and a ladder affixed to middle section of roof. Evergreens are in the background. Exposed part of building support is composed of wooden beams filled with large rocks. View side of building shows one door and one small window.
On back of photo is stamped: Professional Photo Services; April 23, '65; Frank J. Meyers, Rawlins, Wyo.
Typed information on back: #10, Portland shaft at top of hill, 1904.
Some soiling front and back of photograph. Some cracking of emulsion on photograph surface. Tape remnant on back.
View 2: Black and white glossy print with one copy. Image shows a large multi-dimensional roofed lumber barn-like building with a large metal pipe extending from roof at side left. A man is standing in doorway at building at side left. A fixed ladder is attached on roof side left. A deforested treed area is on hills in background. Foreground shows sparse vegetation and few timbers strewn about.

Good condition. Surface is wrinkled and indented at various locations. Typing on back impacts emulsion on front. Slight soiling on back.
Copy print of this image: Measures 4 7/8 x 6 1/2". Good condition. there are multiple scratches in emulsion, wear on edge and fingerprints on print surface. There is a light colored developing flaw on side left.Collection
