Printed across top border: "928 Independence Rock", "The Register of the Desert" "Sweetwater River in the Foreground." "In Wyoming". Printed on the back in blue: "Independence Rock lies beside the highway between Rawlins and Casper near the Platte River. it is famous in the pioneer history of the West as a landmark and message post. Situated on both the Old Oregon and Overland Trails the scouts, the explorers, and trappers left their messages here and made it their meeting place."
