A black and white scanned photograph of the office of the Conyers Transfer & Coal Company, 1904, Rawlins, WY. From left to right: Mrs. H. J. McGee; Clarence A. Conyers, and Edwin Buchanan, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Buchanan. On side left of print is a wooden frame building which has a sign on the window which reads Friend Journal and Job Printing. A smaller sign to the left of the window reads Office Rawlins Townsite Co. Lots for sale. There is a small wooden frame building, on side right of the Friend building that has a sign in the window which reads Coal Office Express Transfer. Multidimensional sign above this window reads: C.A. Conyers, Dray and Express. Phone 99 black. Number over the doorway entrance: 111. Woman is dressed in long black skirt, white puffed sleeved blouse, her dark hair is in an updo. On photo side right is a freight wagon hitched to a two horse team. A man wearing work clothes and a dark hat is sitting in the driver's seat holding the reins. A man dressed in soiled workclothes is standing to the side of the team with his left arm resting on the outside horse's head. He is wearing dark gloves, hat, and galoshes. A rough square blocked side walk is in foreground of the horses, and a wooden planked sidewalk is in front of the two buildings. There is a tall fire hydrant at edge of sidewalk at side left of print. Measures 8 1/2" x 11."
Good condition as it has been newly scanned, but anomalies are seen on side right from the original print which result in a yellow color on the scan print.Collection
