Two black and white prints, 1 copy, 1 scanned print & one negative.
1. Image of stone building with 2 sets of steps leading up to very tall doors. On photo left door is open and another set of steps is beyond door. Door in center has three men standing at top of the steps. A sign on building reads: "Rawlins State Bank". On a window to photo right is painted: "Rawlins Republican". Another set of steps going from second set toward right a sign reads: "Lunch Co:" There is a pillar below sign holding up walk way . Second story has windows on left and lower facade on right side. A board walk is in front . Written on the back in black ink: "1899 Murphy Ready building located on the corner of 5th and Front St. Those in picture are: William Daley, Homer France and J. A. Rendle". In pencil "Exterior Rawlins Business Houses". "1899 Wm Daley, Homer France, J. A. Rendle". In blue ink: "Street graded down in 1883". Written on paper: "Brown's State Bank on parts of lot 14 & 15 block 43. Picture taken in 1896 to 1900. Republican Office moved to basement in early 1900. Building on print on parts of lot 15 and 16 block 23, print in June 1900 as Wyoming Saloon and Club Rooms. Fred Donolen 1902, Fred Rumph and David Nicolas Saloon in Oct. 1907.
Condition good. Wrinkled, creased.
2. Written on back in pencil: "Right at the turn of the century, corner of 5th and Front street William (?Big Bill) Daley is the one standing on the left (beard). Home of the Carbon County Journal, the Rawlins weekly newspaper started in 1879. The building stood on 4th street between Cedar and Front streets. John Friend, editor is second from the right." Stamped in black "Carbon County Museum Box 52 Rawlins, Wyoming 82301". In blue: "Copy by Frank J. Meyers, photographer Rawlins, Wyoming" Condition good. Wrinkled, emulsion impacted. Size 5 x 7.
3. Copy; written on back in black ink: "1899 Murphy Ready Building located on the corner of 5th and Front St.. Those in picture are William Daley, Homer France and J. A. Rendle." In blue ink: "Photograph after January 1896 to 1900". "Duplicate mounted". Stamped in black: "Copy provided by the Wyoming State Archives and Historical Department". "Copied by State, mounted". In pencil" Bank organized Jan 1, 1899". "Street graded down in 1883". "Neg. No. 5269". Condition good. Scratched, emulsion impacted by writing on back, creased, top right corner bent. Size 5 x 7.
4. Scanned print; written on back: Corner of 5th and Front St. William (Big Bill) Daley is standing to left (with beard and hat). John Friend editor of the Carbon County Journal is standing in the center. Condition good. Size 8 x 10.
5. Negative. Good condition. Rubbed top right corner, small indents top & bottom border.
