Description

A black & white print attached to a heavy taupe colored paper with an irregular border which is attached to a heavier brown mat paper. Image is of a group of men in three rows dressed in various styles of decorative bolero type jackets over various shades of decorative turtleneck shirts. Many of the shirts appear to have an Egyptian icon at center front with the letters D.O.K.K. at right side in a vertical pattern. All of the men are wearing hats of various styles: turbans, fezes, & high crowned hats with tassels or feathers. Man in front row, second from left appears in decorative velvet looking jacket with his arms crossed. First man in second row left is wearing a black pullover smock? with white braid trim. Two men in front row are wearing 3-piece dark suits & fez type hats. Men appear to be early day Shriners. A small engraved logo at bottom right in red script: Carpenter, artist. Print in good condition with wear on edge & corners. (1 missing). Various cracks in emulsion, especially at top edge. Print is lifting from mat. Outer mat is soiled & bent. There are tape remnants on top & back surface at lower edge. There are white marks at various locations on back surface.
