Black & white print. Snapshot. Mounted on dark grey matboard. Two originals & one copy print. Image of a group of men on horseback posed on a sagebrush covered hill. Men are all wearing suits & hats. Rocky outcrop in background. 1. 9 x 12" Written along lower image margin with black ink are numbers 1-8. Written on back in black ink - partially obscured: "[missing] Daley [missing] with Pres Theodore [missing] who rode from Laramie [missing] over the mts from Laramie to Cheyenne August 1910.[sic]" "[1. W .W. ] Daley 2. Otto Gramm 3. U.S. Senator Warren 4. N K Boswell 1st Sheriff of Alban Co. [5] President Theodore Roosevelt [6] 7 8 J. W. Ernest" "President Roosevelt had Stoped[sic] in Laramie to inspect the Girls Cadet Corps[.] Laramie had 2 companys [sic] of girls Cadet Corps - The first [cut off]" "No 2" Typed & handwritten caption found with photo: The party rode over the mountains from Laramie to Cheyenne in August 1910 1. W. W. Daley 2. Otto Gramm 3. U. S. Senator Warren 4. N. K. Boswell - First Sheriff of Albany County 5. President Theodore Roosevelt 6. Back of President. Joe Letors Mr. Hadsell's Deputy. 7. Mr. Frank Hadsell on white horse. He was U.S. Marshall J. W. Earnest Mounted on acidic matboard; cut down from original size - edges rough & uneven, surface missing on back at edges. Mat torn 1 1/8" long at lower edge left of image. Mat scuffed & slightly soiled. Image surface soiled, scratched & slightly soiled. Ink numbers in emulsion surface. 2. 8 1/2 x 12". typed caption taped to back: "President Theodore Roosevelt en-route from Laramie to Cheyenne May 30, 1903 Left to Right: Capt. Seth Bullock, North Dakota; Surgeon General P.M. Rixey, Wash, D.C.; U.S. Senator F. E. Warren, Cheyenne, Supt. W. L. Park, U.P. Railroad, Cheyenne; Hon. William Daley, Rawlins; Hon. Otto Gramm, Laramie; and John Ernest, Laramie." Written in pencil below caption: "The identification sequence is not correct on this picture - William Daley is on the left side of the picture as viewed looking at the picture (see other copy of this picture for the probably true identification sequence. Feb 29, 1980 W. R. Daley". Red "X" on back in lower right corner. Mounted on acidic matboard; cut down from original size - edges rough & uneven. Tear in mat 1 1/8 " long in lower edge left of image. Mat back soiled, stained & scratched; mat front scuffed. Image surface scratched. 3. 3 1/2 x 5 1/8" copy print. Writing on the back in black mirrors the incorrect sequence of original #2. "17". Condition - good.
