A gray woolen blanket manufactured at the Old Penitentiary. It is a double blanket held together on the sides by 19 brass colored grommets, with the top and lower edges open. A white stripe design runs horizontally across (edge to edge) on top and lower areas of blanket. There are white cloth strings attached at various areas along the side and lower edges and on the center of blanket in a vertical line. The opposite side of the blanket has a tiny white cloth trim strip with loops all attached along the entire edge and 90 degrees across lower corner. Good condition, some grommets are pulling out, some fading, discoloration on edges, slight soiling on ties, and there are two holes at the center. It is unclear what the purpose of this blanket would have been. Perhaps a bedroll liner? Measures 5'9" wide by 5'10" long, and is double thickness.Collection
