Description

Dedication of Independence Rock with Gov. Emerson. Update 5/2010: Black and white glossy contact print of mason meeting on top of Independence Rock. Men are standing and sitting in a semi circle of no particular pattern. They all have on a white apron looking cloth tied around their waist. (Symbolic of masonry bib). An American flag flies and chairs are setting at random. What appears to be an alter of stones and iron candle sticks is in the photo center. Printed on original negative in white: "The Grad Lodge of A.F. & A.M. of Wyoming Commemorative Services at Independence Rock of the 78th anniversary of the first Masonic meeting held in Wyoming, July 4, 1940. Copy right 1940 by Meyers". Written on back in pencil: "July 4, 1940 #212". Condition good. Irregular borders. Creasing.
