Description

Taken at a 1912 Circus. Update 2009: Black and white postcard. Face of card with image has five men posed by sky and partial moonset. Three of men are standing beside and behind moonslice. They are wearing hats. Two men are seated on bottom slice of moon, man on left is holding his hat on his leg. Man on right has hat on his head. they are all wearing suits with white shirts and ties. Written on front in pencil: L Tor Tutweiler. L. Magor A Gordon Joe Fenley Jim Espy front S. Gordon. Written on back of card in pencil: "Taken about 1912 at a circus in Rawlins, Wyo. I was working for the Standard Meat Livestock Company. Jim Espy foreman at that time. Tutweiler did not have to leave Texas. The sheriff followed him to the state line trying to have him stay but Tut turned him down cold. S. Gordon". Printed on back of postcard in black ink: "Post Card" "Correspondence Here" "name and Address Here" with center dividing line. In upper right corner is square with "AZO" and triangle on sides, inside is printed "Place Stamp Here." Condition good. Soiled, corner damaged, emulsion cracked right side.
