Scope and Content

A 2-page set of blueprints for Dr. W. A. Jolley's Hospital and house. Both pages measure 10 1/2" x 11 1/4." Sheet 1 details the framing of the building and sheet 2 details the first and second floor. The following history of this building was compiled by historian Rans Baker. Jan. 26, 1900, merchant/stockman, J. R. Doty sold to Dr. W.A. Jolley two lots on the southwest corner of 4th and Pine Street for $750. Early April, 1900, Dr. Jolley had construction begun on 34" x 34" 2-story frame Hospital/Home, which set on a stone foundation. The structure was finished the first week of June. (his new wife would not live in the home/hospital). Within a year the building was sold to Denis O'Melia, (donor's father). Ted grew up in the novel building. In 1965, Denis descendents sold the property to Northern Gas Co. and they sold the house to Earl and Eve Tacket, who moved it to 200 block of 19th street. They had several old buildings there. (shacks) The house was burned down by the city fire dept. as a dangerous building on Feb. 26, 1971. (The Tackets accidental gassed themselves doing their own pipe fitting.)
