Black and white photograph of a storefront. Sticking off the roof is a sign that says "John A. Donnel." Written across the top half of the facade is "Wholesale Manufacturer of Fine Stock Saddles and Harness of Every Description." The storefront has one window on each side of the wide door, each of which has a shade pulled half down with "John A. Donnel Saddle & Harness" printed on them. The doorway itself has various bits of tack (halter, stirrup, unidentifiable straps) hanging in it. Two men stand in the doorway, a man and a girl sit on the first step, and a young man sits on a lower step at the bottom of the picture. The lefthand man in the doorway has his sleeves rolled up and a well worn long apron covering much of his body. He has a full beard. On the right side of the doorway has suspenders and a bowler(?) hat. He may have bands around his elbows keeping his sleeves tight. He has a moustach. The man sitting on the first step has a white shirt, dark vest, and flat topped brimmed hat. He has a moustache. The girl sitting next to him wears a long, long sleeved light colored dress with puffy shoulders. The young man sitting below them has a white shirt under dark suspenders, and a wide-brimmed hat pushed back out of his face.
Another building connects on the right, with only an H visible of that building's name. To the left is a building with a billboard on it: "John A. Donnel. Wholesale. Manufacturer of the Famous J.A. Donnel stock saddle, warranteed "to hold anything" that runs on four legs." The billboard depicts a mounted cowboy on a galloping horse. The cowboy's right arm is up, twirling a lassoo. A cow runs ahead of the horse.Collection
