Description

19 1/4" X 13 7/8" photograph on 22 3/4" X 17 7/8" black mat board. Same image as 2001.180.0017 and 1947.001.0002. Description from 2001.180.0017: "Black and white two copies/negative. Image is of interior of a store. On photo left is a counter with light colored front, there 2 metal stools attached to the floor that fold against counter for more aisle access. On counter is a cash register and scales with a metal scoop shaped container. At far end of counter are rolls of wrapping paper on a stand. On wall behind counter are canned goods and boxes on top of shelves. More shelves further down wall have metal ware on them, i.e. tea kettles, buckets, watering cans, coffee pots, pitchers, and coal buckets. On back wall hanging are shovels, hay forks, hay hooks and axes. on wall on photo right , hanging are clothing items: jackets, shirts, gloves. Another counter under them is light colored and has another folding metal stool. On the counter is a glass case with meats and a roll of wrapping paper on a stand. Another glass case with curved top is on far end of counter and a wood case with drawers. Boxes are stacked on floor under far end of counter. Down center of store are potatoes in a box on the floor. Behind them 5 shelf rack with open topped boxes with food in them. Some glass bottles can be seen on a shelf behind. On top of that shelf are metal spoked wagon wheels on childs toy wagons. A kerosene lamp with shade hands from ceiling. There are three men in the store. One on far left is behind the counter, another is leaning against counter on left and is wearing bib overalls, white shirt, dark vest and tie. Other man is leaning on counter on right and is wearing 3 piece suit and bow tie. Copy 1. Written on back: " interior of Keef (sic) Store about 1902-03 Rawlins, Wy. 100 Block and 5th looking West. HE. McFarland in overalls. Frank Keefe in suit coat and vest." Condition good. Size 8 x 10. Copy 2: " interior of Keef Store about 1902-03 Rawlins, Wy. 100 Block and 5th looking West. HE. McFarland in overalls. Frank Keefe in suit coat and vest." Condition good. Size 8 x 10." Picture is in good shape, but slightly warped by water damage, which has stained the bottom third of the back of the matboard.
