Carbon County Miscellaneous 2 of Daley Family Folder 2 1216-Tiny snapshot, "WRD took with tiny camera 13th Street, Joe Kinney?" written on back. Shows man with snow in background. 414-"Lil and Irvine Rendle, La Jolla, 1947" shows couple standing on rocks by seashore with gulls flying about and on the ground. 829-"Jerry Johnson, xmas 1937" shows young boy with heavy clothing and cap standing in snow. Series of Blizzard of '49 snapshots: 1403-Train plow blowing snow up in air. 1400-Train engine x3949 stuck in snow with men digging it out. 1401-Train caboose seen and engine stuck in snow (wall of snow) 1402-Train cars stuck in snow 1407-Union Pacific caboose and engine stuck in snow 1465-Long train with engine stuck in snow 1408-Train engine x3949 stuck in snow with men digging it out. 1404-Rear train cars seen stuck in snow with high back to right. 1406-Train and cars buried in snow 949-Postcard photo of log building with a tall round large black pipe and a tall very small pipe emanating from building. Written on back: "Bob Brown, friend from Rawlins but not permanent resident of Aunt Annie Moore's" 1457&1458-Two prints of a vintage room with wallpaper, sheer curtain, photos on wall, table, chairs, one wall with books on shelves, personal artifacts, desk with bottles, etc. lamp. Written on back of both photos: "P. E. Daley's Dorm Room, Northwestern University." 672-400 block of Cedar Street. Photo is same as 1948.039.0018. "The stages are ready to take the mail to their various destinations. Fritz Dennison in P.O. door. First stage next to P.O. door is going to Ferris at the east end of Ferris Mtns northeast of Rawlins. Mr. Frank Roberts driving stage. About 1898. Can see Donnel Saddlery sign on right, hardware store in distance. There are three? stagecoaches ready to leave. Dirt street, wooden sidewalk Post Office building and sign at left. Monument Hill at background. See also 1947.003.0113-same photo-"Date 1898/ 9, probably 1898. Lander and Saratoga stages picking up mail at PO after leaving Rankins barn where passengers get on. The two horse rig is driven by Phillips and his wife. The covered rig next is Miller's Mountain wagon with Walter Hyland driving and the team is old Mike and Frank. Near the camera, third from left is Fritz Dennison, who worked at the PO. First is C. B. Batsford, postmaster and owned the corner store in front of the PO. On up the street is Tom Cannon in front of his butcher shop. Second person up street from him is your Dad W. W. Daley. There is a group of men standing in a line in front of a building. It has a sign that reads: "Photographs," another building to left reads: "The Capitol" and "The Bon Ton". In the background are tall buildings with various signs reading: "Hardware", "J C Osborne" "Rawlins Store" A building on photo left: "Saloon" Photo taken in the 300 Block of Front Street. A group of photos of a work truck hauling cut wood turned over on a wooden bridge with all of the wood spilled out in the creek and on the bank. 893,894-McKinney Creek, Rocky Crossing, "Daley truck fell thru bridge." 897, 898-"Top of Miller Hill on McKinney Creek, 1948, P. E. Daley caved in bridge with big truck." 899, 900-Bridge on McKinney Creek top of Miller Hill 1950?? P. E. Daley drove the 2 ton Chevy loaded with stove wood across the bridge and on of the stringers? broke. "Around 1920's." 699-A vintage car driving through the deep snow with a person to the front side of the path. 401-A Meyers photo of a group of men dressed in oriental? looking costumes with turbans of various types on their head. Most all men have beards or mustaches of some type (fake?) A sword with banner is hanging high over their heads. There is an emblem on the banner and the initials A. A. O. M. N. S. (Believed to be Shriners Club). 442-A group of people wearing heavy coats and walking on a snowy road with a covered truck going before them. 441-A sleigh wagon being pulled by two horses with a covered truck with chains being pulled by the sleigh. Two men are on the sleigh. One with a heavy fur coat. The sleigh reads: "Baggs Stage" on the side. 443- A vintage car with license 15058 appears to be stuck in the snow. 444- A covered truck with the end flap lifted showing a man sitting in the rear of the truck. Several men are standing on both sides of the truck. Snow is on the road and all around. 445-Three men pushing a vintage vehicle with canvas covers on the sides. 446-Vintage truck (stuck in deep snow) with canvas covers on top, sides, and rear is pulled by a sleigh which is pulled by two horses. 649-Olive France with a load of sage grouse? in both hands. 650-Uhl France with a load of sage grouse hanging on a rope? around his neck. 651-Tepee set up in background with vintage vehicle to side. A white pointer dog has two grouse at his feet in foreground. "France's dog." 646-Dr. Barber? cleaning sage grouse with sagebrush in the background and wooden sticks behind him. Two postcard photos: 460-A large group of unknown men holding cups in their hands while standing outside with a building in the background. 468-A large group of unknown men holding cups in their hands while standing outside with a large barn like building in the background. 438-Bill Glascock with dog. 542-A group of women having a picnic with a toddler in the middle being given some milk to drink. 931-Three women wearing long skirts, jackets or blouse and vest with woman on each end holding a rifle. Man second from left may be J. Reuel Armstrong. A man dressed in a dark suit is standing on a sandstone wall in the background. 1812-Vintage car with open top showing two men in front. Steering wheel is on the right. Two men are in the front seat and one man is in the back seat. They are parked on a city street. Businesses on the far side include: Laundry, A. M. Grant Tailor, Hairdressing and Baths, The Wah Fung Curio Co. Written on the back, "East side Brown Palace, Denver, Either 1908-1909, From back to front: Dee Wren, L. A. Smiley and Colburn Mechanic. Delivery of two Colburns-one to W.W. Daley and one to L. A. Smiley.
