Black & white print. Snapshot. Image of the aftermath of a fire that destroyed one building & badly damaged two others. Firehose lying on street & ladder leaning against the two-story building at center. Another block of buildings can be seen in background at right. Spectators at right midground & foreground.

Stamped on back in blue ink: "2".
Emulsion irregular & wavy. Upper right corner bent & emulsion cracked.

Firemen are standing on the ground & several are holding a hose that is spraying water on the upper level of a building. The building has a sign reading: "Confectionery Drink Coco Cola Delicious and Refreshing" A sign laying on ground of burned building reads: "Ice cream, Candy" Adjacent buildings on the other side with signs: "Blatz Beer", "Rainbow Hotel", "Teton cafe" "Hams Beer Midway Bar" Icicles are formed on eaves of buildings, wires & debris on ground.
Written on back in pencil: "About 1935, Candy Kitchen Fire".
On white adhesive tag: "Fire, Firemen".

Good condition. Accretion, clear adhesive corner in upper right, creased, wrinkled, paper clip creased upper left, liquid stain on back, soiled, edges worn.Collection
