a. A black and white photographic print of a large group of uniformed young male cadets standing in four informal horizontal rows on the steps and sidewalk of a stone building. There are wide rock balustrades on each side of the steps which adjoin to a decorative feature at side right. A geometric arch is seen in the entryway behind them. Rans is in the third row, fourth from left. Photo has gray matboard frame. "1954" written on front. Tearing is on the back of the matboard at most edges.
b. The above description is virtually the same for this photograph. Same location. Wrought iron tall gates are closed through the arch. Rans is on the far right in the last row of two young men. His hair is close cropped. 1954. Photo has gray matboard frame. Two pin holes at top corners. Worn edge side left.
c. A black and white photographic print of a large group of uniformed young male cadets sitting in three horizontal rows on the steps of a stone building with large columns (two) on each side of the building entryway porch stone wall. Rans is sitting on the first left in the rear row. 1954. Written on back "Student Council." Tearing on back of the matboard.
d. A black and white photographic print of a large group of uniformed young male cadets standing in five informal horizontal rows on the steps and sidewalk of a stone building. This building is the same as photo "a." above. Young man in row one at left is holding a black flag on a pole. Two young men in front row have epees, the other appears to have a rifle. Rans is in second row, third from left. Young men in row two have guns by their sides. 1954. Gray matboard frame. Pin holes at top corners. Torn mat at side left and back.
e. Three informal rows of young men in baseball uniforms and dark caps standing on the steps and sidewalk of the building listed above. Boys in row one have gloves on their left hand. Their uniforms have "Shattuck" in black letters across the front at chest level. At the sides of the back row is a young man in cadet uniform and hat (Rans) and at side right an older man wearing a black cap. His clothing is not really visible. 1954. Gray matboard frame, torn at edges, and worn at top. Torn at back.

The building is the same as listed in photo "a." Outer walls and doorway appear to be covered in vines. Rans is in the row, second from left. 1954-1955 written on photo back. Not framed. 8" x 10." Engraved on photo right corner, tiny print, "Dozer, Faribault, Minn. Good condition. Some soiling.Collection
