One of C. R. Bell's outfits hauling sandstone from H. Larsen's Quarry. Four head of horses and the wagon loaded with a huge block of standstone.
Update - 2009: Black & white print. Snapshot. Image of a wagon hauling a large block of stone across the sagebrush prairie. Wagon is drawn by an 8-horse team. Single man on wagon driving team.
Written on emulsion in blue ink: "Sandstone from south of Rawlins [.] C.R. Bell's outfit".
Written on back [blue ink] "Given to museum by Mrs. Ruth Shie Tomah, Wis C. R. granddaughter" "Copied by State" [black ink] "mounted" [pencil on white adhesive label pasted to back] "Larsen".
Upper & lower left & lower right corners bent - emulsion cracked; slight damage to other corner. Paper wrinkled; emulsion cracked in places. Paper yellowed. Ink on emulsion surface.
Update July 2011: Black & white copy print of a wagon hitched to a team of 8 horses. Wagon is a flatbed with wood spoke wheels & hauls a large square load. Written at top of print: "Sandstone from South of Rawlins C. P. Bells' Outfit"
Printed on back in black: "Copy Provided by the Wyoming State Archives & Historical Department.
Good condition. Slight creasing on right side.Collection
