One of C. R. Bell's outfits hauling sandstone out of H. Larsen's Quarry with four head of horses and a wagon loaded with a block of sandstone.
Update - 2009: Black & white print. Snapshot. Image of two men tending to a wagon hauling a large block of stone. Wagon is pulled by an 8-horse team & is stopped on a road through the prairie. Structures in background right.
Written on emulsion in blue ink: "One of C.R. Bell's Out-fits[sic]. Sandstones from H. Larson[sic] quarry. around Early days.".
Written on back: [blue ink] "Given to museum by Mrs. Ruth Shie of Tomah-Wisconsin - C.R. Bell's granddaughter" "copied by State" [black ink] "mounted" [pencil on white adhesive label pasted to back] "Larsen "[sic].
Slight corner damage. Paper slightly yellowed; wrinkled; emulsion cracked in places. Ink on emulsion surface.
Update July 2011: Black & white copy print. Image of a team of 8 horses pulling a wagon. Two men are beside the wagon, one is holding the reins & the other is bending over to pick up something.. Written at top of print: "One of C. R. Bell's Outfits Sandstones from H. Larson quarry. Around Early days".

Good condition. Wrinkled, torn on bottom border, slight creasing. Size 5x7"Collection
