Description

Sinclair service station under snow, Blizzard of 1949. Update 2/2008: A black and white print, 8 x 10 of a Sinclair Wyoming service station partially covered by a massive snowdrift from the blizzard of 1949. The foreground shows a partially exposed plowed snow covered roadbed. On right side is a grouping of dormant trees and evergreen tree and a sight that reads Sinclair Recreation park and Golf Course in white letters. Snow rises up the small hill behind trees and sign. A service station is seen in photo center with partially snow covered gasoline pumps and a light pole in front of the building. Snow appears to cover right front and side of building up to lower tile roof. the three garage doors on far left of building appear to be covered on one fourth lower edge. A single one light traffic light is hanging across roadway in front of truck. There are tiny black and white dots and pencil marks throughout print surface from original negative. Photo has extensive wrinkling on all photo edges. There is soiling on all photo edges and back of print. There are two houses in the distance to the left of the station in the photo. Written on back in blue ink: "Winter of 1949:. A tiny white sticker on photo back has Sinclair written on in pencil.
