Description

Engine 2888 wreck. Update 3/2010: Black and white print. Snapshot. Image of the aftermath of a train wreck showing a steam engine nose down and rear up in a rail yard. Engine number appears to be 2888. See also 1956.253.0013. Hand truck with two cylinders of welding gas parked by track at center front. Workmen gathered around back of engine. Painted on the side of the cab: "Union Pacific." Buildings in background. Paper yellowed. Back soiled. Upper right corner bent-emulsion cracked. Emulsion cracked at center.
