Black & white print. Snapshot. Image of a group of buildings next to a railyard. Chunks of snow on the ground. Large, two story frame building at front of row. Door & two tall windows on first floor end, three windows on second story; small round window under the eave. Six chimneys on roof. Thirteen windows on upper floor front above porch roof. Three windows & doors on ground floor. Ramps to boardwalk at near end. Two men standing on boardwalk near fence at near end. iciles hanging from front of roof & porch roof. Single story building next in line followed by several stone buildings with large chimneys. Last stone building appears to be round house. Written on back: [blue ink]: "3-f. The Union Pacific Hotel & eating house. It was built in 1869 just west of the first depot on the south side of the tracks. This building burned in the early '70s." [pencil] "3 col. 50-2-287" [blue ink] "Eating house at Rawlins" [black ink] "duplicate" [pencil on white adhesive label pasted to back] "U.P. Railroad" [light blue ink - mostly cut off] Cut down from original size - writing on back cut off. Emulsion cracked throughout. Some writing on back impacting emulsion. Blue ink stain in upper left on emulsion.
