George Baker's saloon at Dillon.
Updated 1/2008: Sepia print. Mounted on dark gray matboard. Image of 12 men and a dog posed on a raised boardwalk in front of a clapboard building with a sign "Miner's Exchange". Snow, logs and other buildings can be seen in the background at left. Rocky street can be seen in the foreground. Two large barrels on right side of boardwalk on one of which a man is seated. men are wearing suits or more casual shirt sleeves; all but two are wearing hats. Man, third from right, is wearing a long white apron and no hat.
Written on the back in blue ink: "George Baker-his saloon at Dillon Wyo". "Given by George Baker, Encampment, Wyo."
Same image as 1956.254.0032. Man in long apron is identified as Ed Stewart, the bartender and the man to his right in the 3 piece suit and bowler hat, is identified as George Baker.
Mounted on acidic matboard. Badly soiled and stained front and back. Edge and corner damage on mat, lower left corner bend. Image surface scuffed and faded.Collection
