Description

The lower part of Big Nose George's skull that was found in a whiskey barrel in 1950 between 4th and 5th Streets on Cedar. Dr. Maghee's office was torn down and a new building was being erected in 1950. The barrel was buried behind the doctor's office . The skull cap was donated by Lou Nelson in 1952 to the UP museum in Omaha. The rest of the bones of Big Nose George were burned in crude oil by Sheriff Terrill in 1952.
