Interior of Miner's Exchange Saloon, Dillon, 1905 or 1906. Owned by George Baker.
Update 1/2008: Black and white print. Mounted on dark grey matboard. Image of 9 men inside a saloon posed by the bar. Dog can be seen in the foreground at right. Men are in suits or shirtsleeves and all but bartender are wearing hats. Third man from the left, the bartender is wearing a dark vest, a very long white apron and no hat.
Interior appears mostly white with patterned wallpaper border around top of walls. Two hanging gas lamps can be seen above the bar. Mirror flanked by paintings(?) can be seen on wall behind bar. Refrigerated(?) cupboards at left side. Mounted animal horns above mirror.
Written on back in blue ink: "Interior of a saloon in Dillon Wyo. about 1905 or 6" "Given by George Baker Encampment, Wyo."
Mounted on acidic matboard. Back of mat soiled and stained from liquid damage. Mat front liquid damaged. Image surface soiled. Edge and corner damage on mat. Center of right and left edges of image torn (1" on right; 1/4" on left); image surface dented. Mat slightly warped.Collection
