Description

Store owned by Ray Ferris, son of George Ferris, at Dillon, 1906. Update 1/2008: Sepia print. Mounted on grey matboard. Image of a two-building storefront with a double 6 mule drawn freight wagon in front. Building at right is "Ferris Mercantile Co." Nine men and a dog can be seen standing on the raised boardwalk. Other buildings and a forested hill can be seen in the background. Uneven rocky ground in foreground. Written on the back in blue ink: "Store owned by Ray Ferris-son of George Ferris at Dillon, Wyo. about 1906-" "Given by George Baker encampment Wyo." Adhesive label on back: "Dillon" Mounted on acidic matboard. Slightly soiled. Red ink? stain on mat back in lower left corner. Slight corner damage. Emulsion slightly soiled and scratched. Mat slightly warped.
