Approx. 10" x 8" black and white photograph. Person on left in second row from back, the row with 4 young men, is donor's wife's grandfather, Emanuel Richard "Dick" Foss. Foss was born on a farm around Walsenburg, CO in 1908. This picture was taken in 1920 at his confirmation into the Lutheran church. He went on to live in Carbon County for 74 years, and acted as the agent for UPRR in Hanna, WY before and during WWII. Foss's son, Robert (Bob) Helton owned a Conoco station in Rawlins, and was Melodi Roy's father.
The picture has 21 people, 20 very mature looking children and 1 adult man, presumably the pastor. All the children have corsages with extremely large greenery attacked.
The front row, l-r: A girl in a mid-calf length dress and pearl necklace, and the greendery of her corsage goes the entire length of her upper body; a boy in a dark suit and slicked back hair; the pastor, who has a dark suit and curled back hair; a boy in a lighter suit; a girl in a white dress with ruffled edges and a pearl necklace.
