The train is in the process of being dug out from the snow, amidst the Blizzard of 1949. In the foreground is a path plowed out beside the engine and adjacent cars. A high block of snow is is between the caboose and engine. Behind the block of snow, next to the engine is the top part of a man's body. The Union Pacific logo is in the center of the engine.
