Oversized black and white photograph. The partially clothed body of a man is lying on a stretcher, an imprint of the U.S. Army Signal Corps is present in the lower right corner. On the back of the photograph are two stamps that read "RESTICTED" and "FOR OFFICIAL USE". There is also text that reads as follows: EUCOM (hole_ 01358 27 MAY Credit - U. S. ARMY SIGNAL CORPS. PHOTOG - T/4 CHAMBERS 69th AUGUST BLEI, GERMAN, IS SHOWN AFTER HE WAS PRONOUNCED DEAD BY THE MEDICAL OFFICER AT THE LANDSBERG PRISON. HE WAS HANGED AT 1047 AND DIED AT 1059. *DC* LANDSBERG, GERMANY. Additional research - August Blei was executed for the murder and maltreatment of inmates at Mauthausen.
