E. M. Tierney standing by Engine #674.
Update 2/2010: Black and white print attached to ivory matboard which has been irregularly cut down and one copy print. Image is of an early day train engine with cow catcher on front, high dimensional smoke stack on top and front of engine. Decorative wide ribbon is attached to engine sides and encircles the front and separate wrappings are around circular components on top of locomotive and the cab areas. The #674 is painted in white on lantern device at top front of engine and an U.S. Flat is attached to this component. The #674 is painted in large #'s on coal car side. Two men in uniform are standing on ground near train cabin. A man is at the cabin window and another man is standing on train between the cabin and the coal tender. Tracks are in foreground. Building tops are seen in background.
Written on back in blue ink: "E.M.Tierney standing."
Fair condition. Mat is soiled, worn and abraded with worn corners. Print is faded. Emulsion is scratched, scuffed with tiny imperfections throughout. There are tiny black dots on print and mat. Fingerprints side left front. Back of mat is heavily soiled along edges, with scuffs, residue and prints.
Copy print measures 3 1/2 x 4 7/8". Written on back in blue ink: "Old Engine, Tierney standing."
Good condition. margin irregularly cut. Print is dark and has tiny white and black spots at center from developing process.Collection
