Description

Black and white print on brown mat of 4 Native American women. They are standing in front of a teepee that has poles sticking out of the top and a flap pulled back. In the distance on photo left, clothes are hanging on a makeshift clothesline. Each of the women has a blanket wrapped around themselves over long skirts. They have on moccasins. Their hair is parted in the middle and hangs straight .Woman second from left is wearing earrings and third from left has the blanket around her neck and up on her head. A dog is in the foreground shaking its head which looks blurry. Written on back in blue ink: "2 G Indian Camp on South side of the railroad tracks near the old slaughter house in Rawlins. Picture taken around 1900". "Copied by State" "Mounted" "47%". In pencil: "page 43, pix 2" size 4 1/4 x 3 1/2. Condition good. Accretion, deep scratches bottom right and left, liquid spots, finger prints, paper missing, mat has been cut down. Update - March 2011: One black & white copy print.
