Description

Two prints and 1 copy of interior of Judge Merrells law office. One print on cream mat. Image of an elderly man sitting behind a large wood table with a small rug beneath. He is wearing a medium colored suit with a dark tie and white shirt. A watch is on his right lapel and something on his left lapel. On photo right is a woman sitting in front of a typewriter wearing a floor length light colored dress. Her hair is pulled back and pinned. Two walls of the office are lined with books in cases. A large safe with the doors open and bins inside and a smaller safe door is on photo left on back wall. In foreground left is a chair with arms made from elk antlers and leather cover with fringe. On wall is a head mount of a large cat and an eagle on top of the safe. A light is hanging from the ceiling. Written on back in black ink: "Interior of the Homer Merrell Law Office in the 100 block on 5th Street. Judge Merrell was an early day lawyer in Rawlins. In the picture are "Judge" Homer Merrell and Gertrude Huntington Merrell, his 2nd wife." "Copied by state-mounted." On white adhesive tag in pencil: "Merrells". Print with mat. Condition good. Liquid spots, creased, scuffed with slivering, mat cut down. Size 5 1/8 x 7. 2nd print: Condition fair. Crease across middle, rainbow creasing, emulsion impacted. Size 5 x 6 1/8.
