Shows cases tried, fees/fines collected, officer making service, and remarks. (2 copies, 1/1939. Criminal Complaint: W. L. Cowart vs. William Iliff for writing a bad check to Ken Shotwell 2/8/1939. Monthly reports of Justice of the Peace. Shows cases tried, fees/fines collected, officer making service, and remarks. For March 1939. 10/5/1939-State of WY vs. Frank Martin on behalf of B. T. Carroll, for swindling him out of 11 tons of hay. 5/1/1939-Criminal Complaint: State of WY vs. E. E. Smith on behalf of L. R. Loyd for rebranding a horse belonging to Mr. Loyd. 6/15/1939-Attachment, Writ and Summons, Affidavit for Attachment, and other documents. Mary Nielsen vs. Fred Chadd, defendant. L. E. Vivion, Surety for Mary. Fred Chadd owed rent and utilities for several months to Mary Nielsen. Fred Chadd's salary was to be garnished at Leiber Motor Company. Letter from Leiber Motor Company on their stationery stated that Fred Chadd did not have any money due him on last day of May 1940. There are other legal documents regarding this matter. 7/8/1939-Transcript of Justice Docket-Charles P. Vogel filed a complaint stating that Emil Solari did unlawfully drive a vehicle resulting in an accident that damaged Charles P. Vogel's vehicle. He failed to stop and to report an accident. He is to be fined $50. (2 copies) 8/8/1939-Ferguson Mercantile Company vs. George A Lemoine for failure to pay account owed. Court found Mr. Lemoine guilty. 8/7/1939-D. R. Higley filed complaint against Harry N. Foster am employee of N. F. Voerding and D. R. Higley, co-partners in Seminoe Grocery. They accuse him of stealing product worth $1500. Mr. Foster pled not guilty. Because there was reason to believe him guilty he was charged $500 bail. 8/1939-Monthly report of Justice of the Peace. Defendants listed: C. F. Kennersley; George Lemoine; Harry N. Foster; J. W. Boyd; Mane Hansen?. 9/2/1939-Transcript of Justice Docket. J. J. Hickey, City Attorney, filed complaint against Ray Flynn for stealing money and articles from Walter H. Brown and Merle Kannard while they were guests in the Miller Hotel run by Mrs. Wilcox. Mr. Flynn posted bail for $500. 9/28/1939-Mrs. Alice Cole filed complaint against Lawrence Jenkins for failing to provide support for Roger Jenkins, 8; Richard Jenkins, 9; Mary Jo Jenkins, 8; Lawrence Jenkins, 6. Mr. Jenkins claimed not guilty and charged with $500 bail. 11/12/1939-Criminal Complaint filed by Glenn Penland, Sheriff of Carbon County, against Fred Vogel who fraudulently procured board and lodging from Mary Ford of Hanna, WY and left without paying. 1/22/1940-Attachment, Writ and Summons-Wesley Hospital, Wichita, KS, through attorney, J. J. Hickey, brought civil action against Charles Bottoms for debt for his mother Mrs. Minnie Bottoms, before D. F. Logan, Justice of the Peace, Rawlins. 8/1939-Thomas J. Stephenson, Plaintiff, vs. Wesley Corbett and Max Dawson, defendants. Concerns a trucking and hauling incident in which Mr. Corbett and Mr. Dawson answer the charges brough by the plaintiff.
