A red velvet swirl patterned fabric covered photograph album which measures, 9 1/4" x 12 1/4" x 3 1/4" thick. Gold gilt on side edges of all pages. Sewn binding. Album has individual slots for cabinet card size photographs. Photos are pre-1903 as A. A. Brown, photographer had left Rawlins by then and many of the photos are taken by him from his studio. A child? has defaced many of the pages and photographs by drawing "pictures" on the pages and scribbling on some of the pages and photographs themselves. Cover is worn with the pile of the nap of the velvet worn off in several places, especially the spine and edges. Photos are of unknown individuals, couples, children and babies. Someone has written sticky notes and placed on select photos some identifications. Donor states that the album belonged to her grandmother, Grace Lloyd Foster who lived on 8th Street in Rawlins. "None of the photos are of our family." C. E. Bennett was placed on a baby's photograph which was taken in Rawlins. One photograph had a name from St. Louis and the year 1899. Studio names included Ferris Studio, Baker & Johnston, Photographers, and others.Collection
