Description

Black & white glossy copy print of a railroad bridge under construction. The bridge is quite high off the ground over a gully with large rocks jutting out on both sides. On track left are men standing, a gap in the track is in front of them. On track right is a train car with a crane lifting the missing piece of track into place. Behind crane car are two train cars connected to a engine going toward photo right. Another rail car with windows is in front of engine. Written on bottom on original: "X This also was my outfit Chanby Kane Eng" A corresponding "X" is above car on far left. Decorative trim is around print copied from mat on original. Printed on bottom: "S.M. Hartwell & Sons, Photo's Laramie, Wyo." Typed on tag copied from original: "Building the Dale Creek Bridge on the Union Pacific B128/" Typed on white paper attached to back & folded forward: "Wyoming Guide, History, building Dale Creek Bridge, Union Pacific Route, 1869 Photograph by courtesy of Wyoming Historical Department" In blue: page 6 (unreadable) Written on back in blue: "copied from original photo in State Museum" Stamped in red: May 8 - 1940 Wyoming State Works progress Administration, E. r.
