C. A. Bristol, Cheyenne. Two bikes.
Update 1/2008: a black and white print, cabinet card. 5 5/8" x 4" print size mounted on ivory colored acidic mate. A young man with dark wavy hair is posed with a two wheel bicycle as if he is in the process of getting on the bicycle to take a ride. His left foot is on pedal and his right leg is on the floor. His upper torso is leaning into the bicycle with his right elbow resting on the seat and his left arm lying across the handlebar. He is wearing a long sleeve white, buttoned undershirt type shirt and a pair of pants pulled up above his knees, with his lower legs exposed. He is wearing a flat soled pair of lace up shoes with a pair of leg anklets on his ankles which touch his shoe tops. There are several small bags attached to the bicycle's support bar. A white rolled object (bedroll?) is strapped to inside front handlebars. The young man has a gunbelt around his waist with cartridge holders visible and a pistol in a holster that is hanging over the bicycle seat. Another bicycle is lying on the ground to the rear left of the young man and his upright bicycle. The chain on the bicycle lying on the floor is hanging off the pedal and a bar of the bicycle is open on one end of the point of the two bars. It is unclear what the condition of the bicycle is.
Print is extremely light faded. There is a black soiled area on upper left side. There are brownish stains on all corner areas as well as bottom right edge. There is a slight tear on mat of central left. Tiny blemish of dents and scratches are at various areas of print surface.Collection
